Oh, this is gorgeous. Needed a moment to open, but patience pays.
Green hints, something like bragga, raw dough, white fruits, and a sherry-like whisper of oxidation. The acidity is stunning - complex, layered, with that fino-adjacent character threading through. Long finish that keeps evolving. Watched this develop in the glass for a while, each sip revealing something new. Simply beautiful.
The wine presents a delicate and subtle bouquet, with orchard fruits, nuts, white bread, and butter, complemented by hints of bakery spices.
On the palate, it's round, fresh, and quite generous, featuring a pillow-like mousse. The long-lasting chalky finish, accented by smokey notes, contributes to its vinous and complex character.
IMO, this wine would benefit from more time in the bottle.
The Bisseuil, while not as intense as the Vrigny, presents a more delicate and subtle bouquet that gradually opens up with aeration. Despite its subtlety, it remains expressive, offering orchard fruits, nuts, butter, and white bread.
On the palate, it truly shines - round, fresh, and generous, with a medium-full body and a long, flavourful aftertaste. The wine's character is further enhanced by an incredibly interesting chalky finish, complemented by some smokey notes.
I can't wait to see how it improves with ageing.
