Les Hauts-Doix is one of the smaller premiers crus in Chambolle-Musigny, under 2 ha, and it sits right against Les Amoureuses on its northern side. Domaine Robert Groffier owns roughly a hectare of it, which makes it one of the domaine's main Chambolle wines alongside Amoureuses and Les Sentiers.
Nicolas Groffier describes his part of the climat as mid-slope, with sand and deeper soil that copes better with heat, planted with vines around 80 years old. Generic descriptions of Hauts-Doix give shallow limestone on the upper slope instead. In 2021 all the domaine's wines were made with whole clusters, and Hauts-Doix saw up to 40% new oak; it is bottled unfiltered.
In a range that runs to Amoureuses, Bonnes-Mares and Clos de Bèze, Hauts-Doix is the vineyard the domaine picks first every year.
