Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Cerrino

Beautiful and intense, very old-school - blind, this read like aged Rioja. The 2018 is pretty ready to drink now, even if it'll benefit from more cellar time. Acid sweets, horse, leather, tobacco, eucalyptus, sandalwood, red fruit jam, red flowers - the whole register Brunello earns with age, already opening up here. Lovely balance on the palate, the tannin polished and integrated, good acidity threading through. Today is OK; cellar will keep rewarding patience.
