Les Vignes de Vrigny is Egly-Ouriet's 100% Pinot Meunier cuvée - a rare single-varietal Meunier from a top grower at this level. The fruit comes from a single east-facing plot in Vrigny Premier Cru, in the Petite Montagne de Reims at the north-western tip of the Montagne, distinctly cooler and sandier than the Ambonnay slope. Vrigny soils combine soft limestone with Sparnacian clay and Thanetian sand - terroir suited to Meunier, which is why Egly bottles it varietally here. Vines planted around 1970.
Indigenous yeasts; tank-fermented in stainless steel (rather than the oak used for V.P. and Bisseuil); no malolactic. Forty-eight months on lees, 2 g/L dosage, unfined and unfiltered, hand-disgorged July 2025. 12.5% ABV.
