The Langhe Rosso is Roagna's entry into Nebbiolo, drawn from younger vines (under roughly 25 years old) on parcels declassified from their Barolo and Barbaresco crus. Vinification follows the house template: indigenous-yeast fermentation in wood with the submerged-cap technique running about two months, then extended ageing in large neutral Slavonian botti for several years before bottling. 2019 in the Langhe was a classic, unhurried season - a cool wet spring delayed bud-break, summer was warm but not extreme, and Nebbiolo finished ripening through a long cool September into mid-October, giving wines with firm structure, bright acidity and serious ageing potential. Even as the basic-tier wine, it carries the estate's austere, savoury fingerprint and rewards air or a few years in bottle.
