The Roagna family has farmed in Barbaresco since 1880, and the estate is run today by Luca Roagna (the fifth generation, now leading after oenology studies) alongside his father Alfredo. Holdings sit across roughly 15 hectares between Barbaresco and Castiglione Falletto, with parcels (owned or leased) in Paje (the family heartland, purchased 1953), Asili, Albesani and Montefico, plus the Pira monopole in Barolo acquired in 1989. The house is one of the standard-bearers of Langhe tradition: indigenous-yeast fermentation in wooden vats, submerged-cap maceration running 60-90 days, and very long ageing in large neutral Slavonian botti before bottling. Production hovers around 60,000 bottles a year, with the upper-tier wines (Crichet Paje, the Riserva Etichetta Nera) released only in vintages judged worthy of the Riserva designation.
