At first sip, this wine comes off as unassuming---there's nothing inherently wrong with it, yet it doesn't quite capture your attention either. Its aroma presents a curious blend of red fruits, earthy mushroom nuances, and an unexpected dash of pomegranate with a hint of tar. On the palate, any promise of chocolate and tea intermingled with a syrupy texture is swiftly undercut by assertive, dry tannins. With feeble acidity and muted fruit, the alcohol ends up taking center stage, leaving me with a quietly perplexing impression.
