The barrel-aged red in Epicrama's range, and like everything else here it is a native variety: Fetească Neagră, off the Stradnics' steep slope at Stăuceni above Chișinău, planted in 2020 and farmed with the vines sharing their rows with cover crops, bees and geese. Élevage is in oak, which is what the cuvée name is about; the house does not publish how long or in what.
The number that stands out is 16% on a dry red. Fetească Neagră ripens late and accumulates sugar readily when it hangs, but 16% is above the usual range for the variety even so, and it puts this at the muscular end of what Moldova makes from the grape - a long way from the amphora-aged Fetească Neagră the estate bottles alongside it.
The 2023 went to bottle on 31 March 2025 as lot 02.
