Viña Tondonia Tinto Gran Reserva is one of Lopez de Heredia's slowest releases, made only in vintages the house considers worthy. The traditional Tempranillo-led blend (with Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo) ferments in ancient oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matures around ten years in used American oak barrels with twice-yearly racking, then a long bottle ageing before release. 2005 was a balanced, classic Rioja vintage.
