Beautiful, perfumed nose - peonies, cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, underbrush, a touch of mushroom. Hints of orange peel and dried herbs round it out with grace. Multilayered, elegant, the kind of bouquet you could sit with for hours. But then comes the palate - sharp, aggressive, awash with green tannin and piercing acidity. Textured, sure, but not in a comforting way. It's one of those wines that delights your nose and punishes your tongue. There's potential, no doubt, but right now it's all promise and no peace.
