Brought this blind to a Bressan tasting, thinking macerated Pinot Gris would fit right in - white wine in a pink dress and all that. Opens with grilled chicken and lime, which is already weird enough, then peonies show up to the party. Some red berry notes too. It's... fine? Not particularly complex, just oddly interesting in that "what am I drinking" way. The palate goes a bit mainstream fruity, loses the plot. Knowing how brilliant their Pinot Noir is makes this feel like a missed opportunity. It's like watching a great actor phone in a performance - technically competent but missing that spark. Sometimes skin contact adds mystery; here it just adds confusion without depth.
