Ricasoli

Barone Ricasoli is one of the oldest wine families in the world, tied to Castello di Brolio in Chianti for centuries - the house brands itself "Ricasoli 1141" for it. In the 19th century Baron Bettino Ricasoli, briefly Italy's prime minister, set down the formula for Chianti as a Sangiovese-led blend. The estate in its modern form dates to 1993, when Francesco Ricasoli took back control and replanted the Brolio vineyards. It remains one of Tuscany's landmark producers.
