Domaine de la Romanée-Conti - DRC - is the most celebrated domaine in Burgundy and, depending on who you ask, in the world. Around twenty-eight hectares of exclusively Grand Cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and beyond. Two monopoles: Romanée-Conti (1.81 ha) and La Tâche (6.06 ha). Also Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands-Échézeaux, Échézeaux, Corton (red, from 2009), Montrachet (white), and Corton-Charlemagne (white, from 2019, leased from Bonneau du Martray).
Co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy/Roch families. Aubert de Villaine retired as co-director in January 2022 after forty-eight years; succeeded by Bertrand de Villaine. Perrine Fénal (daughter of Lalou Bize-Leroy) became co-director in 2018, succeeding the late Henry-Frédéric Roch.
Biodynamic since 2007. The wines need no description here - if you have tasted them, you know; if you have not, the descriptions in other people's notes will not prepare you.
