Fabrice Dodane is the négoce arm of Domaine de Saint Pierre, run by Dodane himself from the same Mathenay cellar. After a run of frost- and hail-savaged vintages in the late 2010s cost him up to 85 percent of some harvests, he began buying small lots of organically-farmed fruit from neighbors in the Jura and friends in Beaujolais and the northern Rhône to keep the cellar working. Wines under the 'Fabrice Dodane' label, and the related 'Le Dos d'Chat' range of glou-glou cuvées in Côtes du Jura, follow the same protocol as the estate bottlings - spontaneous fermentation, no fining or filtration, zero added sulfur. The split is administrative rather than stylistic: estate fruit goes on Domaine de Saint Pierre labels, purchased fruit on Fabrice Dodane / Le Dos d'Chat.
