The Luchianov brothers' family estate in Ștefan Vodă - 24 hectares, a courtyard operation grown into a serious hospitality-and-wine destination, and one of the more quietly ambitious Moldovan producers.
A family-owned winery from Ștefan Vodă, Moldova. Alexandru Luchianov purchased the land in 2002 and started growing vines in 2003. The first harvest was bottled and rewarded at a local competition in 2005. In 2006 his brother Igor joined.
On 24.2 hectares, roughly 136 km from Chișinău, on terroir influenced by the Black Sea, the Liman, and the Dniester River. They cultivate Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Fetească Neagră, Saperavi, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Marselan, Albarosa, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier - plus some Glera for sparkling. The range spans red, white, rosé, orange, sparkling, sweet, fortified, and spirits - broad enough to suggest ambition, specific enough in the best bottles to suggest they know where they are going.
The estate has grown into a wine-tourism destination with guest rooms, a restaurant, and a pool - a hospitality layer that has helped build their reputation domestically and with visitors.
