Cascina Corte is a small organic estate in Dogliani, in the San Luigi hills of Piedmont's Langhe, run by Amalia Battaglia and Sandro Barosi. They bought the abandoned property in 2001, restored the centuries-old farmhouse, and revived old vines planted in the 1940s and 50s. Around five hectares sit on limestone, blue tuff, and clay, certified organic, hand-harvested and worked with native-yeast ferments, minimal sulphur and no filtration. The estate is best known for Dolcetto - the Dogliani San Luigi and a Superiore from the old La Pirochetta plot planted in 1946 - with smaller plantings of Nebbiolo and Barbera added in the early 2000s.
