Recanati is one of Israel's leading quality wineries, founded in 2000 by Lenny Recanati and Uri Shaked, and based in the Hefer Valley. Under head winemaker Kobi Arviv, in the chair since 2006, the house has pushed a Mediterranean turn - matching Mediterranean and indigenous grapes to the Israeli climate, harvesting at night, and reviving old-vine Carignan. It went further than most in resurrecting near-lost Levantine varieties, releasing a Marawi white in 2014 and a red Bittuni, both grown with a Palestinian farmer. The wines are kosher.
