Domaine de la Touraize

Domaine de la Touraize is an Arbois estate, run by André-Jean and Héléana Morin as vignerons and récoltants - everything they bottle comes off their own vines rather than bought fruit. Farming is certified organic and Demeter biodynamic, and the cellar work runs to indigenous yeasts, low sulphur and bottling without filtration.

The range covers most of what the Jura does. Chardonnay in several parcel cuvées, Savagnin both topped up and raised oxidatively under voile, vin jaune, Trousseau and Ploussard among the reds, plus Crémant du Jura, vin de paille and macvin. An ammonite runs through the labels, and one Chardonnay is named for it: the blue and grey marls under these vines are Liassic seabed, and the Jurassic period takes its name from the range these hills belong to.
