The wine was served blind, and I initially misguessed its origin. The oxidized notes, mineral qualities, and slight warmth led me to consider Jura, with Etna as my second guess. Only later did I realize it was Chenin Blanc.
Despite not being the most complex or exciting, this Chenin Blanc is undeniably charming and delicious. The nose reveals aromas of yellow apples, nuts, white flowers, bread, and subtle honey hints. On the palate, it is round and mineral with medium-plus acidity, leading to a beautifully long finish of candied fruit, honey, and white flowers. A lovely, easy-going wine.
