This is no ordinary Champagne - it leans heavily into the soul of their still Rosé des Riceys. Vinous, expressive, and unapologetically characterful. The colour alone sets the tone: deep rosé, coppery with that telltale onion-skin hue. The nose is a layered weave of dried wild strawberry, redcurrants, cherries, herbs, wilted flowers, orange zest, pear candy, tea leaf, and a grounding earthy-mineral touch. There's structure too - bitterness, well-judged oak, firm acidity, and a textured palate that's both flavourful and long. Still youthfully tense, but already commanding. This one asks for focus and attention.
