Kalkundkiesel Blanc

This could have been anything - no idea how you're supposed to identify wines like this blind. I couldn't even detect the 10% Muscat Ottonel.

But one thing's clear: it's delicious. Fairly funky, but not heavy - an inviting mix of dried medicinal herbs, yellow and white fruits, pickled apples, kōcha kinoko, acacia honey, and a touch of volatility. On the palate, it's not especially powerful, but it has lovely weight and structure, plus a really pleasant saline edge. Tasty and quietly confident in its loose, unpolished charm.
