The fruit comes from organically farmed hillside parcels around San Floriano del Collio, on ponca, the layered marl and sandstone the Collio shares with Brda across the Slovenian border. Fermentation is spontaneous, on the skins for 10 to 15 days; the wine then spends over a year in old oak and another in steel, and goes to bottle unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. Bottled 28.08.2020, it rested roughly three more years in glass before release - standard practice for the riserva tier that sits above Terpin's early-drinking Quinto Quarto line, alongside Stamas and the rest of the riserve; the single-parcel Sialis wines form a separate cru line above it.
