The Graacher Riesling Trocken is Dr. Loosen's village-level dry Riesling (VDP Ortswein), a step below the estate's single-vineyard Grosses Gewächs wines. It is made entirely from Graach's steep blue Devonian slate, off younger own-rooted vines. Fermented dry with wild yeasts and raised in stainless steel to keep the fruit clean and unmarked by oak, it leans on citrus and stone fruit over a firm, mineral spine. The 8.1 g/L of residual sugar sits well inside the trocken range: against the Mosel's high acidity it reads as tension and length rather than sweetness. 2023 was a ripe, harmonious Mosel year with lively acidity.
