Join to read it and the restAlhena is Lamiable's Blanc de Blancs, and the odd one out in a Pinot-led house. The fruit is not from Tours-sur-Marne, where the house sits: it comes from Billy-le-Grand, a premier cru village on the eastern side of the Grande Montagne de Reims, and that is where the cru level on the bottle comes from. Tours-sur-Marne is grand cru, and Lamiable does bottle a Chardonnay from there as grand cru - Phéérie - so the two Blancs de Blancs carry different classifications for a reason of origin rather than of grape. Buying fruit outside the home village is possible because Lamiable works as a négociant-manipulant rather than a grower.
100% Chardonnay from the 2022 harvest, drawn into bottle in March 2023 and disgorged in October 2025 - thirty-one months on the lees - and finished Extra-Brut at 4.5 g/L, 12.5%.
