Tasting Notes
A tug into the charming bouquet of the 2018 Le Sabbie dell'Etna reveals a medley of cherry confiture, violets, and a smoky-peppery dance, with rosemary and dark olives throwing in a rustic twirl. The palate is fresh with low and dry tannin. Flavours of cherry, mulberry, and a floral-smoke. It's not overly complex, but elegant, interesting and well-made. The aftertaste leaves a long, warm trail. A bit funny to read my 2-year-old notes, as they show the wine evolved in terms of aromatics, but the palate remains the same.
North-eastern slope of Etna. Delicate, even austere bouquet of sour cherry, prune, violets and pepper. Quite tannic and still green, but the palate is elegant with long evolving aftertaste with flavours of sour cherry and cured violets.
