Tasted blind and nailed it - but only because it was the weakest link in our lineup. Shame, really. The nose charms at first: fruit and flowers dancing with underbrush and meat, a touch of dark tea. But then those yeasty notes creep in, and you realise it's all surface. Young wine with surprisingly civilised tannins, perfectly approachable, but it vanishes like a guilty thought. Nothing really holds together. Pleasant enough company that doesn't overstay its welcome - because it can't.
Blind tasting fail - pinballed between Nebbiolo, Gredos, and Galicia before wrongly ruling out Nebbiolo (too friendly tannins, Galician-like acidity). The wine? Strawberry-blueberry fruit meets underbrush, meat, and red flowers. Elegant but holding back - not harsh, just restrained on the palate. That ascorbic candy finish is the giveaway: too young, not fully integrated yet. Needs time to show what it's really about.
