Join to read it and the restAppassimento is the drying of grapes to concentrate their sugars before fermentation; lieve means slight, and the producer glosses the name as wine "from slightly dried grapes". Cielo e Terra says only that the grapes are naturally dried and then cold-fermented. UK trade descriptions of the same wine put the drying on the vine over about 25 days, which would make it over-ripening rather than drying after picking; the producer does not say either way.
De' Conti is one of Cielo e Terra's brands. The company sits at Montorso Vicentino in the Veneto, while this wine's fruit is Apulian - a Rosso Puglia IGT. The current packaging is a rename: the same wine was sold until recently as Appassimento 100x100.
The varieties are contested. The producer names none, offering only "red varieties from Puglia". UK trade lists Negroamaro and Primitivo for this vintage. The Ukrainian importer declares Primitivo 100%, a single-variety claim the producer's own plural does not support.
Cielo e Terra holds Equalitas certification, the Italian third-party sustainability standard, at winery level.
