Simple, indistinct, and artificial Chardonnay. I think I'm starting to understand the natural wine movement a bit more if this is the conventional style they are 'fighting' against. Look, it's not awful or bad; it's just bland. Some blossoms and fruits try to emerge from the glass, but the vanilla and oak notes are overpowering. The palate is similarly affected---the texture and flavours feel too artificial and overwhelming. Luckily, not all conventional wine is like this.
6 months in oak.
Elusive and indistinct Chardonnay. It offers only fruit tree blossoms (nice!) and nothing more (not nice). Good acidity. Simple table wine with little to no character. I would still go with Chizay, but happy to see alternatives in this price range.
