A heavily oak-driven nose that initially overshadows the fruit, though with time, hints of jam and ripe cherry start to peek through, alongside herbal, tobacco-like notes and a mix of spices. As it opens up, a subtle smokiness emerges. Not particularly complex, but smooth, slightly evolved, and relatively juicy. The alcohol is high, yet the balance holds---surprisingly easy to drink solo, even at 15% ABV. I doubt it makes sense to age it further.
