Rubesco Vigna Monticchio Torgiano Rosso Riserva

This is my first encounter with both the producer and the region, yet I was able to identify Sangiovese. The nose is remarkably developed, featuring aromas of coffee, black fruit jam, balsamic notes, blood, spices, leather, and chocolate. It has a full body, high acidity, and impressively mature tannins---so mature that they're nearly imperceptible. The finish delivers an electrifying sensation, akin to licking a battery.
