Tasting Notes
Strange wine, this. Fascinating to revisit after three years, though it's clearly tired now. Machine oil and butter on the nose, with animalistic funk and grass. The palate brings peach and green mango, but lacks structure - like it's given up halfway through the race. Not particularly fresh anymore, with hints of minerality trying to hold things together. It's worn out, honestly, but not completely, so somehow still compelling. An interesting experience rather than a great wine.
Tasted blind. My guess was Chardonnay from New Zealand, though I was lost in trying to guess the producer. Haha, turned out to be a local blend from Dão. Machine oil, butter, animalistic notes, grass, peach, and green mango. Ethanol is slightly out of place. But overall, it's fresh, tasty and shows some complexity.
