Semeli was founded in 1979 by the Kokotos family, who began with a boutique operation near Athens before moving into the Peloponnese. The estate's modern home is at Koutsi, in the hills of Nemea, built in 2003 and sitting around 600 metres up among what are counted as Nemea's better sites; the group also farms in Mantinia, Moschofilero country. It has grown from a small family venture into one of the Peloponnese's established names.
