Great Wall

Great Wall (长城) is COFCO's wine brand - the Chinese state-owned food and agriculture group holds the trademark - and by production volume one of the country's largest wine operations. It is not an estate but a group of separate legal entities, and the company frames its footprint as five producing regions: Shacheng in Huailai, Hebei; Changli under the Jieshi hills; the Penglai coast in Shandong; the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain in Ningxia; and the Tianshan foothills in Xinjiang. Marketing sits with 中粮长城酒业有限公司 while production sits with whichever regional company made the wine.

Its 天赋葡园 range, rendered Terroir in Latin script, draws across those regions. The Ningxia estate 长城天赋酒庄, built in 2012 at 1266 metres on the eastern slope of Helan Mountain, is a separate operation despite the shared name.
