Ca' del Baio is a fourth-generation Grasso family estate based in Treiso, on the southern edge of Barbaresco. The winery is currently led by Giulio Grasso together with his daughters Paola, Valentina, and Federica, who represent the next generation moving through the cellar. The estate farms around 25 hectares across Treiso and the Barbaresco commune, with holdings across seven MGAs - Asili and Pora in Barbaresco, and Vallegrande, Marcarini, Montersino, Ferrere, and Trestelle in Treiso - alongside plantings of Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Moscato d'Asti. Farming follows the 'Green Experience' sustainable protocol, excluding synthetic herbicides and fertilisers and using green manure and cover crops to support biodiversity. In the cellar the house leans traditional, with native-yeast fermentations, long macerations, and aging in large Slavonian botti for most Barbarescos, giving wines that read as transparent and site-driven rather than flashy.
