This one is a curious wine. On one hand, it's a bit inexpressive, but on the other, it offers something interesting---Nordic berries, earth, and seductive notes of wild strawberry with thick compote. Easy to drink, the acidity is not high but enough to keep the palate juicy---all you can crave during summer heat.
The SMACK vintage is a Culinaries exclusive produced by Nicolas Chemarin 100% Gamay. This red wine from the Beaujolais Villages appellation reveals aromas of fresh red fruits, with a supple texture in the mouth. It pairs perfectly with light dishes such as andouillette, white meats and charcuterie.
The vinification of the SMACK cuvée follows traditional methods, including a 15-day semi-carbonic maceration in a Morgon vat with the whole bunches, followed by aging in concrete vats for 8 months. The region's terroir is characterized by granite and clay-limestone soils, which is reflected in its character.
