As always, this wine is excellent. With time, it evolves to become more open and expressive while retaining its complex, multilayered character and remarkable structure. It's densely packed and delicious, offering aromas of quince jam, tilia honey, bruised apples, wet pebbles, chalk, and wool. On the palate, the green notes recede, giving way to richer flavors of honey and bruised fruits.
This vintage shows a more intense colour than the '16. It offers a sophisticated, yet slightly restrained bouquet of white peach, bruised yellow apple, tilia honey, chalk, and sunflower oil. The balance is nearly perfect, with a structured, round, and crisp mineral palate. The long, delightful aftertaste brings flavours of quince, crushed apple seeds, and hints of grass. Nuanced, impressive, and very quaffable.
It's always a pleasure to open a bottle by the late Jacky Blot. A sophisticated bouquet of white peach, apple, lime, tilia honey, chalk and gunpowder. Mineral and fresh mouthfeel, almost perfectly balanced. Quaffable and nuanced at the same time.
Simply gorgeous. Such a multilayered and nuanced bouquet of apple vinegar, a wet shirt (that was wet for a long time, hehe), honey, chalk, gunpowder and apple. Then it reveals some creamy notes like dried cheddar. High acidity, but so well balanced and integrated (?). Delicious and evolving. The aftertaste is long and persistent. Dangerously quaffable, it's so hard to stop. Guessed Jacky Blot. IMO the best value of the evening.
This bottle was part of the Chenin Blanc blind tasting organised by Vova Ulianov.
